My
dream was to move to Dubai one day and live on the Beach
In a country where I believed Democracy existed in the
Middle-East. In one of my first few trips I was attracted
to The Emirates by its beautiful weather, beaches, sands,
deserts, low duties and what looked like a great place
for business oportunities. In a country where one does
not have to pay income taxes and where duties for imported
items were at only 4% seemed like a wonderful place
to be and do business coming from Taiwan where Duties
on cars can run upwards of 100%.
My first 500 cameras sold...
Upon
walking around I walked into a shop Named Back then
Speed-Gulf Computers which was Run by a Syrian man named
Anas Al Nabhan. The owner of the shop asked me to help
him import a particular camera from Taiwan that he wished
to sell in which he had an order for. The first time
500 cameras were ordered and I flew to Dubai personally
to clear them and deliver them as well as to collect
my money for them. With a little haggling here and there
I managed to collect my money and I flew back to Taiwan.
